Mary Lee Jolly, age 92, peacefully departed this life on July 18, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, dedication, and devotion to her community and all that she loved. She was born on February 12, 1934, in Vienna, Georgia, to the late Ella Mae Jolly and James Jolly. As their only child, she was cherished and nurtured with values that guided her throughout her life.
Mary Lee attended Booker High School. Driven by a desire to care for others, she later pursued a career in healthcare, completing the Certified Nursing Assistant program at Sarasota Vocational Technical School in 1971.
She devoted many years of faithful service to Sarasota Memorial Hospital in the Nursing Department, where she cared for countless patients until her retirement in 1988. Even after retiring from the hospital, she continued serving her community as a private-duty Certified Nursing Assistant, offering comfort, dignity, and exceptional care to those in need. Her kindness, mixed with a touch of humor, along with her gentle spirit and welcoming smile, left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.
Mary Lee Jolly will be remembered for her loving heart, humor, quick-witted responses, and steadfast devotion to her family and those entrusted to her care. A member of Bethlehem Bible Church, her life was a testament to service, compassion, and grace.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory her beloved son, James Evans; her cherished granddaughter, Tamisha Keith; and her grandson-in-law, Fred Keith, along with extended family members, dear friends, neighbors, and all whose lives were touched by her kindness.
Though she has departed this earthly life, her legacy of love, service, laughter, and faith will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
