Matty Burke Smith was one of God's angels in human form. She was born on May 31, 1937, at 8:00 p.m. in Coatopa, Livingston, Alabama, to her loving parents, Norman Burke Sr. of Orville, Dallas County, Alabama, and Velenc (Whitted) Burke of Pennington, Choctaw County, Alabama.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents Norman Burke Sr. and Velene (Whitted) Burke; her devoted husband, Dennis Smith; her daughters; Muriel Smith and Brenda Smith Weeks; and her brothers. • Willie Ward Sr., David Burke, Norman Burke II, Willie Jackson, James Lee Burke. She was also preceded in death by her sisters: •Cora Gipps, Vera B. McKenzie, Annie Pearl Turner and Mary Jean Derricks.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 3:00p.m at Koinonia Missionary Baptist Church. Arrangements are entrusted to Jones Funeral Home.
