Obituary For William H. "Henry" Pugh Jr.

William H. “Henry” Pugh Jr., 73, of Sarasota, Florida, passed away on June 26, 2026. Born in Homerville, Georgia, Henry built a life defined by hard work, integrity, and a love for family and friends. He dedicated his career to the auto collision repair industry, where he earned the respect of customers and colleagues alike. As the proud owner of Dynamic Motor Car Center, he took great pride in providing honest, quality work and mentoring others in the trade. He was also a proud member of the 100 Men Club of Sarasota, Florida.

Outside of work, Henry enjoyed gardening, car racing, drag racing, go-kart racing, and spending time fishing. Whether tending to his garden, at the racetrack, on the water, or in his shop, he was happiest doing what he loved and sharing those passions with others.

He was preceded in death by his parents William and Virgie Pugh and sister Barbara Howard.

Henry is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 53 years, Peggy Pugh; his son, Brian Pugh; his cherished granddaughter, Annie Pugh; his brother, Christopher Pugh; his sister, Deborah Williams and her husband, Rob; his brothers, Maurice Pugh and his wife, Dorothy; his nieces and nephews, Asha Howard, Ronica Williams, Khalil Williams, Kellie Stephens, Willie Shaw Junior, Chip Sheffield, Tony Sheffield, and Jamal Watson; his sister-in-law, Dorothy Sheffield; his brother-in-law, Lloyd Sheffield; his sister-in-law, Diane Watson; his brother-in-law, Pastor Frank Watson; and his brother-in-law, Robert Lindsey; as well as a host of cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Visitation will be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Thursday July 9, 2026 at Jones Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held on August 1, 2026 at 11:30am at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 3131 61st St., Sarasota, FL. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor and celebrate Henry’s life. Funeral arrangements by Jones Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the Humane Society of Sarasota in Henry’s memory.

Henry will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for his hard-working spirit, generous heart, and the lasting impact he made on everyone who knew him.
