Anita Thomas passed June 8, 2025. She was born on May 19, 1967 to the late Monroe Thomas and Eloise Sawyer Thomas.
Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: her sister, Andrea Denise Thomas Martin; her brother, Randy Monroe Thomas; her brother-in-law, Stanley Aaron Martin; her nieces, Juquana Dwan Whiteside, Lawana Monique Whiteside, Sequana Dominique Whiteside, Brandy Monique Thomas Jeffries and Keianna Shadae Thomas; her nephew, Darren Rashad Thomas; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025 at 12:00 noon at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard St., Spartanburg, SC. Burial will be in the Lincoln Memorial Gardens, Drayton, SC.
Anita will lie in state on Thursday, June 12, 2025 from 12:00 noon - 8:00 p.m. at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel.

I worked as the previous Director of New Day and met Anita as I was learning my job. Anita was always there to help me when out in the community and keeping a smile on my face. She was a gentle person to those she loved, especially the very young and old. My prayers for comfort to her family.

I meet Anta in the late 1980's and we bonded almost immediately. I was saddened to hear she had passed. May the family find comfort in the knowledge that she is at rest.
