Araka Jefferies Boozer entered into eternal rest on March 3, 2020.
She attended Spartanburg District 7 Schools. Araka graduated from Spartanburg High School, Class of 1991. Mrs. Boozer obtained a Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from USC Spartanburg.
Araka was a member of the Altrusa Club and Sertoma Club.
Araka was a faithful member of Maranatha Free Church of Jesus Christ. She was faithful to God in her services to the church as a young person she grew up at Cleveland Chapel Baptist Church, where she served as assistant to the Pastor Timothy J. Brown, Summer Camp Director, sang on the Youth Choir and Adult Mass Choir.
She worked with the Girl Scouts of the Piedmont, Spartanburg Girls Home, and presently was the Program Director for Angels Charge Ministry. Araka enjoyed working for the Lord.
She left to cherish fond and loving memories; her mother, Nannie P. Jefferies; her husband of fourteen years, Asondre Lamont Boozer; her sons, Christopher James Boozer, Montese Boozer and Tyrese Boozer; her daughter, Montasia Boozer; her sister, Christie Jefferies; her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Willie P. Bailey; her niece, Garlia Rice; her special sissy, Sonya Miller; and a host of family and friends.
Mrs. Boozer was preceded in death by her father, Mr. Donnie Jefferies.
A Celebration of the Life of Araka Jefferies Boozer will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard St., Spartanburg, SC.
