Obituary For Bennie F. Jones
Bennie Franklin Jones, Sr. of Spartanburg, SC entered into eternal reston August 9, 2024 at his home. He was born on August 25, 1937 to the late Amanda Drummond Jones and Geddes Jones, Sr. Mr. Jones was the husband of the late Shirlean Lyles Jones.
Mr. Jones was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. He was previously a member of Lower Shady Grove Baptist Church in Reidville, SC.
He retired from Auto Light. Mr. Jones then became employed at Byrnes High School.
Bennie was a Veteran in the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Jones enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger years.
Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: his children, Marlene Lyles Teamer (Larry), Wilma Jean "Doddie" Jones, Anna Louise Jones, Bennie Franklin "Frankie" Jones, Jr. and Berley Marcel Jones; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren; his sister, Patti Ann Jones; his brothers, James Harold Jones "Butch" (Katherine); and Robert Earl "R.E." Jones.
He was preceded in death by: a grandson, Derrick Terrell Jones; and a great-grandchild, Dominique Santrell Jones, Jr; a sister, Mary Francis Sims (Paul); and a brother, Geddes Jones, Jr.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard St., Spartanburg, SC. Burial will be in the Heritage Memorial Gardens, 3901 S. Church St., Roebuck, SC.
