Mrs. Beulah Clara Sykes was born on August 8, 1934, in Laurens County. She entered into eternal rest on March 17, 2022.Mrs. Beulah Clara Sykes was married to the late Mr. Homer Sykes. From the age of twenty, she worked for the city of New York. After dedicating years t the agency, she retired from The Board of Education. Beulah then settled in Inman, South Carolina.
Beulah lived a good life. She was always the life of the party and she had a big heart. Beulah loved her friends and family.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Sylvester Gary, Thomas Gary, Ernest Gary; and one late great-grandson, Alexander Gary.
Left to cherish fond and loving memories are her three children, Mrs. Ester Bernice (Emanuel) Reynolds, Mr. Eric Douglas (Barbara) Gary, and Mr.Lorenzo Homer Sykes; four sisters, Dorothy Gary(Pastor Willie) Lindsay, Mrs. Ruby (Milton) Taylor,Mrs. Gloria (Joe) Giacameea, and Mrs. Joann (John) McCarroll; two sister-in-laws Carolyn Gary and Annie Ruth Gary. Beulah had three grandchildren, Mr. Eric D. Gary II, Lugene Preston Sykes, and Erica D. Gary; two great-grandchildren, Noelia Gary and Delilah Beulah Sykes; two step-granddaughters Whitney Mathis and Sheadia Lester. In addition, she left a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who all loved her dearly.
Services will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Gramling, Campobello, SC. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
