Carmelita McNeill Woods made her home in Heaven on February 26, 2021. Mrs. Woods was born July 15, 1964 in Charleston, SC to Susan Ball McNeill and the late Leon McNeill, Sr. She was the beloved wife of Minister Michael Woods for thirty-six years.
Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: her daughters, Nicole Woods, Michelle Edwards and Carmen Woods all of Spartanburg, SC; her siblings, Reicka Walker (Maurice), Sonya Buncum (Danny) and John McNeill all of Charleston, SC; her grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other loved ones.
She was preceded in death by: her brother, Leon McNeill, Jr.
Mrs. Woods graduated from Converse University with a Bachelor in Education. She was employed in the retail industry.
Carmelita was a member of Monks Grove Baptist Church where she was involved in many ministries such as: Sunday School, Choir, Prayer, Women's Conference and Greeter Ministry. She was loved and everyone loved her smile.
A Homegoing Celebration for Carmelita McNeill Woods will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard St., Spartanburg, SC. Rev. Dr. John H. Corbitt will officiate. Interment will be in the Heritage Memorial Gardens, 3901 S. Church St., Roebuck, SC.
Mrs. Woods will lie in state from 9:00 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.

This is my sweet long time friend and I can't believe my eyes. She used to take places when I needed transportation and we had some great times together talking about God and give praise and glory to God, and the Lord Jesus Christ . I was just thinking of her and tried to call her. I love her and she will truly be missed. To her husband and her girls and grands our prayers are you all.
