Obituary For Carolyn Jarman

Charlotte, NC – Carolyn Buie Jarman, 79, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 18, 2015. Mrs. Jarman was the daughter of the late John Buie and Essie M. Fields Buie in Savannah, GA. She was the widow Mr. Horace Jarman. Mrs. Jarman was a member of Holy Trinity Baptist Church in Amityville, NY. While in Spartanburg, SC, she attended Majority Baptist Church where she served on: the Hospitality Ministry, Usher Ministry, Freeda Johnson Missionary Ministry as well as a Deaconess in the church. Carolyn was a member of the Bee Street Sympathy Club and the St. Mary #175 Order of Eastern Stars. She was employed with Long Island Developmental Center in Melville, NY until her retirement and relocation to Spartanburg, SC. After her retirement, Carolyn did volunteer work with Mobile Meals and also worked at the polls during elections. Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: her sons, Steven Jarman of Rock Hill, SC and Richard Jarman (Phyllis) of Woodbridge, VA; her sister, Victoria Buie-Owens (Leon) of Charlotte, NC; a special god-daughter Cheryl Johnson of Capital Heights, MD; her step-daughter, Mary Joyce Wright of Fort Lauderdale, FL; her 13 grandchildren; her 3 nieces; her nephews; her numerous great grandchildren; and a host other relatives and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Essie and John Buie, husband Horace Jarman, siblings Carl Booker and Deborah Stewart and step-son Kenneth Stephens. A Celebration of the Life of Carolyn Buie Jarman will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard St., Spartanburg, SC. Reverend Jerry Louis Gadsen will officiate. Interment will be held at Heritage Memorial Gardens, 3901 S. Church St., Spartanburg, SC. Friends and family visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon – 1:00 p.m. prior to service.
