Charlie Lee Littlejohn Jr. August 25, 1947 - March 30, 2021
Wilmington, NC - Formerly of Highland Falls, NY Charlie Lee Littlejohn Jr., 73 of Wilmington, North Carolina, formerly of Highland Falls, New York passed peacefully at the Lower Cape Fear Lifecare Hospice on March 30, 2021.
He was born in Spartanburg, SC on August 25, 1947 to his parents, Charlie Littlejohn Sr. and Louisa Greene, but raised by his grandparents, Ellison and Mamie Littlejohn.
Charlie was a member of St. John AME Zion Church in Highland Falls, NY and served as treasure of the Men's Ministry as well as a member of the Afro-American Men's Club, he retired from U.S. Marine Corps.
Charlie is survived by one daughter, whom he went to live with when his health started failing: Bernadette "Penny" Patrick Stokes of Wilmington, NC; one son, Darryl Patrick of Albany, NY; former wife, Noretta Littlejohn of Wilmington, NC (they had an awesome friendship); one brother, Johnny Greene of Spartanburg, SC; two sisters, Maddie Anyalewechi of Baltimore, MD and Betty Hacket of Spartanburg, SC; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grands; one great-great grand that will be born in June 2021.
Mr. Littlejohn will have a graveside service at 1 p.m., Tuesday, April 6 at Heritage Memorial Gardens, Spartanburg, SC with full Military Honors. A Service of Remembrance will be held in Highland Falls at a later date.
