BOILING SPRINGS, SC-Converse McIntyre was born on June 7, 1941 in Spartanburg, South Carolina to the late Mr. Hoover McIntyre and the late Hattie Brownlee James. He was reared in the home with his mother and the late Mr. Jimmy James. He departed this life on November 16, 2013 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of Mrs. Lucille Foster McIntyre for twenty-eight years. Mr. McIntyre was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, in Wellford, South Carolina where he served on the Deacon's Ministry before his illness and the Gospel Messenger Choir. He retired from Springs Industries after thirty plus years of service. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lillie Mae Barrett, and two grandchildren, Coby and Lauren Foster. Mr. McIntyre leaves to cherish his life: his wife, Lucille Foster McIntyre; four children, Darlene (Michael) Abram of New Castle, Delaware, Thomas (June) McIntyre of Linden, New Jersey, Bruce (Sybil) McIntyre of Renton, Washington, Sandra (Constant) Richardson of Staten Island, New York; four step children reared in the home, Leon (Teresa) Walker of Spartanburg, South Carolina, Isaac Walker of McCormick, South Caroling, Tammy (John) Chutter of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Jody (Dee) Walker of Boiling Springs, South Carolina; one sister, Linda James Smith; one granddaughter reared in the home, Nikki Walker of St. Petersburg, Florida; fifteen other grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family will be at the home of his son, Jody Walker, 102 Hunter Ridge Drive in Boiling Springs, South Carolina. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at 2:00 pm at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel. J. W. Woodward Funeral Home
