Emma "Precious" Taylor entered into eternal rest on November 7, 2018. Ms. Taylor was the daughter of the late George Taylor and Cora Lee Taylor.
She graduated from Carver High School, Class of 1963.
"Precious" was the second black female Police Officer for the Spartanburg City Police Department from 1976 - 1983. She was an Anesthesia Technician at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center for twenty years. After her retirement she became a part-time School Crossing Guard for the City of Spartanburg until her untimely death.
Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: her children, Robin Robinson and Eric Gilchrist; her granddaughter, Taylor Robinson; her great-grandchildren, Lamonte' Robinson, Johntavious Davis, Da'Ryus Carson and Da'Nya Carson; her sister, Barbara (Fred) Shelton; and her adopted family, Dr. Althea Smiley, Mitchell Ramsey, Karyn Smiley, Andrea Morman and Darrius Carson.
A Celebration of the Life of Emma "Precious" Taylor will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard St., Spartanburg, SC. Dr. B. D. Snoddy will officiate.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of service.
