Eva Ruth Ferguson, our beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend passed on April 5, 2018. Mrs. Ferguson was born May 14, 1931 in Spartanburg County to the late Lillie Mae and John Scott. She was married to the late Edward Ferguson Mrs. Ferguson was previously employed at Butte Knitting Mill as a presser and at Hortons Cleaners and Fowler Brothers Cleaners for many years. While on each of her jobs, she gained the love and respect of many of her co-workers. At an early age, she confessed her love and belief in Jesus and was a faithful member of New Day Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, listening to gospel quartet music, sewing, and crocheting. Mrs. Ferguson was a skilled seamstress who loved taking the 'ordinary' and turning it into the 'extraordinary.' She was preceded in death by her only sibling, Mary Elizabeth Boyd, four months ago. She leaves to cherish her memories to : her daughters, Detra Williams (Michael) and Edwenia Gaffney; her four grandchildren, Felicity Waters (Ken), LaShanda Mayberry (Bernard), Walletia Gaffney and Rev. Wallace H. Gaffney, III; her five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A Celebration of the Life of Eva Ruth Ferguson will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at New Day Baptist Church,2090 S. Church St. Spartanburg, SC. Rev. Dr. James L. Hailstock and Rev. Wallace H. Gaffney, III will officiate. Burial will be in the Lincoln Memorial gardens, 2310 Cannons Campground Rd., Drayton, SC. J. W. Woodward Funeral Home
