Fannie the second child of six children born to Alexander and Louise Allen. She was born on April 18, 1938, in Bennettsville, South Carolina.
She transitioned to be with the Lord on January 25,2025 at home with her family. Her educational journey began in Marlboro County Public
Schools. Upon graduating from Eastside High School, she attended Clinton Jr. College in Rock Hill S.C. and went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education from Livingstone
College in Salsbury N.C. While at Clinton Jr. College she met her husband of 43 years Harold M. Jeter Sr. and to this union four children were born.
Fannie had a deep love for children and teaching. She would often say “teaching is a calling”. Following her graduating from college, she began
her teaching career at Lincoln Elementary School. In 1970 she was transferred to Fairforest Elementary School where she retired in 1994. In
1993 she had the honor of receiving the Teacher of the Year Award. After retiring she was asked to return to teaching to cover long-term absences until 2001.
Her relationship with the Lord began at an early age at Shiloh Baptist Church in Bennettsville, S.C. As an adult she relocated to Spartanburg, S.C. and joined Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church where she served for many years. She was also a member of Arch St. A.M.E. Zion Church where she served on the choir, Deaconess Board, Sunday School Teacher,
Kitchen Committee, decorating the bulletin boards, and Treasurer for 32 years. In 2016 she joined Bunton C.M.E. Church where she served on the Missionary Board, Pastor’s Aide, and enjoyed using her talents to create informational and inspirational displays for the church facility.
She was preceded in death by her parents Alexander Sr. and Louise Allen, her husband Harold M. Jeter Sr., three brothers Alexander Jr., Milton, and James Allen. Her sister Patricia Lane, granddaughter Kenadi
Wheeler, two brothers n law Willie Rodgers, and Rodger Lane.
Left to cherish her fond memories four children Debra Jeter, Harold Jr.(Carlotta) Jeter of Irmo S.C., Zandra Jeter, and Veronica (Robert) Wheeler. Four grandchildren Sabrena (Kyle) Baylock of Atlanta Ga.
Heather Jeter of Irmo S.C., Derrick Dawkins, and Jerimiah Wheeler. Two honorary grandson Malcolm and Malachi of Jackson Mississippi, Three
Great Grandchildren Kyle Jr., and Myles Baylock of Atlanta Ga. and Jaxson Jeter of Irmo S. C. Sister Helen Rodgers of Tampa Florida, two sisters in law Vera Jeter Jones and Barbra Allen of Clearwater Florida.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Metropolitan AME Zion Church. Burial will be in the Lincoln Memorial Gardens.
