Florence Reed Kennedy born January 11, 1939 in Whitestone SC to Lucinda Reed and James Houston, departed this life on December 17, 2025.
Florence’s passion was taking care of people, she was a registered nurse at Spartanburg Regional for over 39 years.
She leaves behind two sons, John F. Kennedy and Elliott Reed Kennedy; three grandchildren; one great grandson; and her cherished friends from her neighborhood.
Florence was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 9, 2026 at Heritage Memorial Gardens, Roebuck, South Carolina.

I worked with Mrs. Kennedy at SRMC for many years. She was so kind hearted, loved caring for people and a wonderful supervisor. She was a great role model for all the nurses and took her work to an extra level of care. Her professionalism to all patients & staff was exceptional. RIP Mrs. Kennedy. Prayers for her family.
Mrs.Kennedy was an excellent nurse , she was the night supervisor on night shift, when I work the dialysis unit at Spartanburg Medical, did everything by the book, wonderful role model , rest in peace Mrs. Kennedy!
