Mr. Floyd E. Scott, Sr. of 2700 Stone Station Rd, Roebuck,SC passed into eternity on July 19, 2025. This was after a prolonged illness.
He was preceded into eternity by his wife of 52 years, Pauline B Scott. He is survived by his sons, Floyd E. Scott, Jr. of MD and Darrell W Scott.
Mr. Scott was a working man for most of his life. This went from plowing fields with mules in his teenage years, to being a supervisor at Hoechst Fibers to finally retiring as a Correctional Officer at the Cross Anchor Correctional Institution. Even after retirement, he drove a school bus for District 6, Spartanburg for a few years.
For many years, he was a fisherman. The fish in many ponds, lakes, and rivers of upper Spartanburg County and in the deep seas off the coast had a bad day when he showed up.
Mr. Scott was a life-long devoted member of Foster Chapel Baptist Church.
He touched the lives of many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was well known and will be missed by the community.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Foster’s Chapel Baptist Church, 2800 Stone Station Road, Roebuck, SC. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Wishing you feelings of comfort, moments of peace and memories of joy during this difficult time.
Gonna Miss You My Buddy
Offering prayers and sympathy to the Scott family. May God continue to comfort and strengthen you. Mr. Scott will be missed.
My uncle always had a smile ready to share. He was a character. He will be missed. I'm sure he's happy to be with Pauline again. Love you.
I was so sad when I walked in White Oak on Saturday and realized Mr. Scott was no longer there. My mother is across the hall so I was accustomed to seeing and speaking to him when I visited. Hopefully he's already found a good fishing spot in his new home. Sending my prayers to his family.
