Frances Isabel Dye was born August 10, 1933 in Hickory Grove, South Carolina to the late Alma and Bill Dye.
She graduated from Jefferson High School in York, S.C. and entered the workforce.
Frances was preceded in death by: her beloved daughter, Michelle; brother, Otis; sisters, Mary, Ethel and Bertha; niece, Judy; and nephews, William Frank, Otis βPapaβ and Woodrow βJuneβ.
Frances joined St. James AMEZ Church, Hickory Grove, SC at an early age. After the family moved to Spartanburg, SC, Frances joined Mt. Moriah Baptist Church where she was baptized by the late Rev. J. Leon Pridgen and remained a devoted member until her passing on September 19, 2024 at Magnolia Manor. Frances faithfully attended Sunday School and Bible Study. She was a member of the Missionary Society, Helping Hands Sympathy Club, Senior Citizens and several other groups at Mt. Moriah.
She was a proud and active member of the Eastern Star and several community organizations.
She is survived by: her sister, Phenie; brother-in-law, Moses; nieces, Margaret Kelley, Geraldine Dye, Christine Oglesby, Shirley Dawkins , Mary Dye, Jean Currence , Ruby Good, Margaret Good and Mindy Golatt; nephews, Tyrone Golatt and William Dye; great-nieces, Toni and Hope Dawkins, Jacqueline Good, Liza Dye, Charlene Cathcart, Chenoa Golatt, Angie Corbin, Krystal Parker, Robin Parker, Camille Parker and Kelly Parker; great-nephews, Wayne Gill, Jerome Oglesby, JaMarea Oglesby, Kevin Kelley, Calvin Scott, William Young, Tony Dye, Mark (Ben), Currence , Travis Currence; and many other relatives and friends.
Frances was employed at RR Donnelly and after retirement, she provided home health and companion services to Seniors.
Frances shared a special love, caring spirit, and unwavering support for her family, friends and Prospect Ave neighbors.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Spartanburg, SC. Burial will be in the Lincoln Memorial Gardens, Spartanburg,SC.
