Freddie Leon Norman,62, of Spartanburg, SC was born December 15, 1961. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny and Harriett Montgomery of Spartanburg, SC, and the late Freddie Lee Norman of Lincolnton, GA.
Leon as he was affectionally known to his family, was a loving father, loyal brother and friend, and loved by so many coworkers and his church family at Shalom Christian Fellowship in Gaffney, SC. He loved to smile. He had a personality that would keep you laughing and smiling.
Mr. Norman was a graduate of Gaffney Senior High School and Spartanburg Technical College and held a degree in accounting and machine technology. Leon loved his profession as a machinist where he was able to build and design machines.
He loved building and creating with his hands he also loved the outdoors and fixing cars.
Leon is survived by: one daughter, Porsche Norman; one son, Christian Deon (Megan) Norman of Boiling Springs, SC; three sisters, Tina Norman, Sherri Tinsley, and Krystal Montgomery; one brother, Mark Montgomery all of Spartanburg, SC; two grandsons, Keandre Brannon and Malachi Boyd of Boiling Springs, SC; and a forever love, Velma Norman of Boiling Springs, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Grier and Sarah Simonds; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Sullivan and Elvira Montgomery; and one niece, Jamayah Montgomery.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, Spartanburg, SC.
Freddie had a beautiful spirit. I loved being a part of his life through Dr. Gibsons office. My love and prayers for his family.
Freddie, your brilliant smile and friendly personality will always stand out. And I know will be missed. You were a good friend in high school. May God welcome you in his arms. Rest in peace.
