Obituary For Herbert Rice
Spartanburg, SC- Born in Spartanburg, SC, Herbert Lee Rice peacefully entered into eternal rest on July 26, 2020. He was the son of the late Odies Rice, Sr. and Nora Lea Huey Rice. He was the husband of the late Idella Rice.
Mr. Rice graduated from Carver High School with Class of 1959.
He was employed with Draper Mills and Baker & Baker Realtors at Pinewood Shopping Center.
Herbert was preceded in death by his sister, Mammie Ruth Wiggins; and his brother, Otis Rice, Jr.
Left to cherish fond and loving memories are his daughters, Mrs. Karen (Nathan) Styles of Spartanburg, SC and Ms. Alfreda Rice of Columbia, SC; his sons, Mr. Billy Rice of Hendersonville, NC, Mr. Tony (Dedra) Rice of Anderson, SC, Mr. Donald (Denita) Rice of Alpharetta, GA, Mr. Ronald (Marion) Rice of Mauldin, SC and Mr. Larry Woodruff of Spartanburg, SC; his stepdaughter, Mrs. Linda Benson (Bobby) Evans of Greer, SC; his stepson, Mr. Robert Sims of Spartanburg, SC; a special niece, Ms. Pamela Robinson of Spartanburg, SC; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, cousins and loving, special friends and family.
A Celebration of the Life of Herbert Lee Rice will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 12:00 noon at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard Street, Spartanburg, SC. Burial will be held at Heritage Memorial Gardens, 3901 South Church Street Ext, Roebuck, SC
