Deacon Jacob Middleton Jr. was born to the late Jacob Middleton Sr. and Elizabeth Middleton on February 26, 1926. He left his temporary home on August 4, 2022 at 3:30 pm at his home and went to his permanent home in Heaven. Mr. Middleton was the husband of the late Earline Middleton. Through a job prospect, he and his family moved from Charleston, SC to Tryon, NC. He worked for many years at Inman Mills, Spartanburg Steel, and created a few of his own businesses. In 1964, he joined the Greater St. James Temple Church. Bishop W.H. Davis was presiding during that time. He became a faithful member serving the church and its members whenever he could. In 1974, Jacob was welcomed to the Deacon Board. He continued to serve faithfully as long as his health would allow. Left to cherish fond loving memories are: his five children, one son, Jacob Middleton III of the home, four daughters Jerlyn (Leon) Miller of GA, Eartha (Joseph) Kelly of Inman, SC, Linette Hawkins (Larry) of Inman, SC and Naomi McMillan of Duncan, SC.; his five grandchildren, Donna Hawkins of Inman, SC who was raised in the home, Ursula (Rafael) Mendez of CA, Shonda (Dunnovan) Waddell of GA, Shannon (David) Crawford of CA and Casey McMillan of Duncan, SC; his six great-grandchildren Obi Okeke, Amara Okeke, Michael Len Kelly, Kannon Waddell, Kalyse Waddell, and Journey Crawford; his siblings, a brother, David Middleton of Columbia, SC, his sisters, Mary J.
