James “Jimmy” Douglas Garner entered eternal rest on March 2, 2024. He was the son of Monroe Garner and Alice Burke Garner. He was a native of Union County where he resided. At an early age he joned St. Luke Baptist Church, Buffalo, SC
During his career he worked for Milliken Textiles for 40 plus years.
Jimmy was a remarkable and caring person. He leaves behind a legacy of commitment, kindness, compassion, and friendship. He was so giving of his time to family and friends. He had a reserved demeanor and sense of humor that always made you think and laugh.
His survivors include his sister Alice Ann Rice and brother Kenneth (Catherine) Garner; and a host of nieces, nephews, other dear relatives, and friends.
He was proceeded in death by his siblings Helen Garner Tanner, Ethel Garner Greer,
Roosevelt “Buddy” Garner, Donald Garner, Mable Garner, Gist Garner, Timothy Garner,
and David Garner.
Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 12:00 noon at St. Luke Baptist Church, Union, SC.
