Obituary For Janie Byrd

Spartanburg, SC - Janie Ruth Byrd entered eternal rest on October 17, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Willie Robert Byrd and Clara Jones Byrd. She graduated from Foster Grove High School, Class of 1964. At an early age she joined Stephen Grove A.M.E. Zion Church where she was a member of the Progressive Club, Willing Workers Club and the Missionary Society. Ms. Byrd was also a member of the Smith Line Sympathy Club. Left to cherish fond and loving memories: her sister, Joyce Byrd of the home; her niece, Latonya Byrd of the home; her three nephews reared in the home, Bobby Joe Byrd, Aaron Elmore and Jodie Byrd of Spartanburg, SC; her two great-nieces reared in the home, Gabrielle Allen and Natalee Byrd; her sister-in-law, Christine Byrd of Spartanburg, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by: her sister, Susie Mae Byrd; her four brothers, Henry Byrd, Vernon Byrd, Willie Howard Byrd and Roosevelt Byrd. A Celebration of the Life of Janie Ruth Byrd will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at The Worship Center, 945 Canaan Rd., Roebuck, SC. Bishop Elect Sharome L. Gentry will officiate. Interment will be in the Stephen A.M.E. Zion Church Cemetery.
