Jimmie Kay Bland passed 01/25/2026.
Jimmie Kay Bland was born on December 27, 1959, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, to Carrie Bivings Bland and the late Willie Ishmael Bland. She entered eternal rest leaving behind a legacy filled with laughter, love, and unforgettable joy.
Jimmie Kay was a proud graduate of Spartanburg High School and continued her education at Rutledge College. While education was important to her, her greatest pride and purpose came from her family. She worked at Flour Bakery for 14 years and Adidas for 2 years until her health declined.
She was a devoted and fiercely protective mother to her only son, Jaron Booker whom she loved beyond measure. They were truly two peas in a pot. Seeing her son walk into a room was, to Jimmie Kay, the greatest gift she had ever received from giving birth. Her love for him was unwavering, her protection unmatched, and her pride unmistakable. Anyone who knew her knew just how much her son meant to her-he was her heart.
Jimmie Kay was also a loving daughter, sister, and aunt who cherished family time. Known as the life of the party, her spirit had a way of capturing every room she entered. She had a contagious laugh, a bold sense of humor, and a gift for making people feel seen and welcome.
She enjoyed walking her beloved dog, Gizmo, watching Tyler Perry shows, and grooving to old-school soulful music. A natural jokester, Jimmie Kay was well known for talking smack during football season-especially with her late fiancé, Ronnie Booker. The two were truly cut from the same cloth, sharing laughter, love, and playful banter that brought joy to those around them.
A proud fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Packers, she stood firmly by her teams. And when the music came on-especially the "Cupid Shuffle"-Jimmie Kay could light up any dance floor.
Above all, she took great pleasure in making others laugh and feel loved. Her joy was real, her love ran deep, and her memory will live on through the many lives she touched.
Jimmie Kay was preceded in death by her father Willie Bland; her fiancé Ronnie Booker, grandparents Otto and Clarissa Bivings, and Ishmael and Sarah Bland; her brother Matthew Smith.
Left to honor and cherish her memory are her son, Jaron Booker of the home; stepson, Ronnie Booker Boyd of Spartanburg; her mother, Carrie Jimmie Bland of Spartanburg; two sisters, Sandra (James) Jackson and WillieR. "Daffy" Norman, all of Spartanburg, SC; three aunts, Peggy Rhodes, Cornelia (Berry) Curry, and Brenda "Faye" Brown; one uncle, Raymond Bland; three sisters-in-law, Maudy Richard, Margaret Booker, and Mary Freeman, all of Spartanburg; one brother-in-law, James (Benita) Booker of Greenville; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews: Ken (Sydonna) Bland, Antoine Bland, Mia (Dan) Williams, Tarvis (Tyler) Jackson, Jarvis Norman, Shakira Jackson, Don Smith, Tywanda S. Pearson, along with a host of great-nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
Jimmie Kay Bland will be deeply missed and forever remembered!
Visitation and Receiving of friends will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 from 5:00pm - 8:00pm at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303
