Mr. Joseph Lewis Hayes Jr. “Pedro”, 64, entered eternal rest on Saturday, October 30, 2021.
Born October 29, 1957, in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of Mrs. Betty Means Hayes and the late Joseph Lewis Hayes Sr.
Mr. Hayes was educated in Pacolet, SC, and served in the U.S. Army. He joined Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and attended First Baptist Church on Wilmington Street in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Mr. Hayes was a faithful fan of the North Carolina State University Football Team and the Carolina Panthers. He loved working with his hands as a Contractor.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandmother Ms. Willie Mae Gentry.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories to his son, Jayshawn Chavis Raleigh, N.C.; Mother Betty Means Hayes of Inman, S.C., Siblings: Debra (Lewis) James of Spartanburg, S.C., Marvin (Kimberly) Hayes of Spartanburg, S.C., Donald (Teresa) Hayes of Union, S.C., Gary (Janice) Hayes of Greenville, S.C., Toni Hayes of Spartanburg, S.C., Tonya Hayes of Inman, S.C., and Special Sister Aleta Gentry, Spartanburg, S.C. Aunt Mary Smith of Spartanburg, SC, Uncle Leonard (Shirley) Gentry of Lake City, Florida, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
Services will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church, Pacolet, SC.
Your brother might no longer be here, but he will always be with you.

Lord I'm so Grateful that you allowed us to share such good memories with Pedro I'm so glad I was able to get to know him better and spend time with him when he visited. I'm Grateful to my cousin Skip/Brother that he took us to a Football game and we had an Awesome time ❤️He will be Truly missed.
