Obituary For Kevin Crawford
Kevin Rodell Crawford was born on May 10, 1968 to Elvera Wise (Deceased) and Clarence Crawford (Deceased). Kevin is the youngest son of four brothers (Gregory, Steve, Kenneth and David) and 1 sister Jackie "big sis". Kevin was born in Newark, NJ and attended elementary school in public & private sectors. Kevin attended Weequahic High School; upon his graduation, Kevin pursued his dreams of being a master mechanic at Lincoln Technical Institute in Union, New Jersey.
Kevin’s intelligence also led him to having a patent on one of his inventions, “The Bill Bender”. Kevin always showed that he was a natural born leader. He would state “I’m a Crawford, I can make money out of mud”. Despite many obstacles in life, Kevin always managed to keep a smile on his face. When asked how he was doing? Kevin would state” Better than I deserve”.
Kevin’s skills and leadership were known to many far and wide. Kevin owned his own business Mobile Preventive Maintenance and at one time managed body shops with over 50 employees. No problems or obstacles were ever too difficult for him to fix, and his legacy lives on, as he was always on a mission to improve the life of his family.
Kevin loved the country, specifically Union Springs, Alabama (USA). He also loved fishing, sports, and cars/trucks. Overall, he loved the Lord, he was a member of Silver Hill Memorial in Spartanburg for many years and Unity Temple in Newark where his mother was the Pastor. Kevin departed on April 21, 2026, at Spartanburg Regional Hospital.
Keivn is survived by his 3 son Keith, Kevin & Kai, (Lori Anderson) . He is survived by his daughter Sharese (Margaret Jones), and his loving siblings Jackie (big sis), Steve, David, 2 grandchildren, friends, family and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 12:00 noon at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, Spartanburg, SC.

Kevin was my gentle giant. We were childhood friends from the same block across the street from each other. Our families were close. He definitely has made a void in my life with his passing. We were best friends, more like brother and sister. We had fun, we joked, we were keepers of one another. He thought I was weird when I converted to Islam. Knowing we both went to Catholic schools. I was at Mother Seton and him Seton Hall Prep. School even showed our closeness. He lived his dreams and he never left me out the loop to move to the South. Of course, I'm a city girl so decline it was. I'm going to miss IKE (Is what WE called him). My brother is hurting badly, his name is Ross. So, I'm here to send out love to our dear brother and his family. For this is truly shocking. I've spoken to IKE all the time updating on life changes and challenges. I'm so going to miss him. I can still hear him now saying; Monique when you coming down😭Love You IKE
