Leroy Smith was born on October 15, 1949 in Spartanburg County. He departed this life on Saturday, January 30, 2021. Leroy was the third of four children. He was born from the union of the late James Sr. and Bertha Addie Beatrice Hall Smith.
He was a graduate of Bethune High School 1969. He was employed at Mack Molding in Inman, SC where he retired after 33 years. Leroy was a loving devoted husband, father, brother, and uncle who cherished his family. Leroy was a hardworking provider.
He leaves to cherish fond and loving memories to his wife Crystal Gail Smith; three daughters Tonya Marie Black Duncan SC, Shoney (Anthony) Abair and Kifanie (Ricky) Moore both of Atlanta GA. Grandchildren Evan Thompson, Daysha (Cory) Meekins, LaTyanna Black; great grands Kaleb Thompson and Mya Thompson; A special nephew Kristopher (Lashun) Wilkins; one sister Silinda (Lee) Wilkins of Campobello SC; two brothers James (Hattie Belle) Smith of Campobello SC and Roger Smith Spartanburg SC; two sisters in-law Yvonne (Milton) Pearson, Joyce (Lester) Cross both of Spartanburg SC; one brother in-law Anthony Thompson of Spartanburg SC; special brothers Floyd Hall, Nathanial Hall, Ralph Hall, Judsen Hall, J.L. Hall and Earl Hall; God daughters Sharon Petty, Donya Smith, Annette Wilkins, Mary Ann Thomas, a host of devoted, nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.
A Celebration of the Life of Leroy Smith will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard St., Spartanburg, SC.
