Lillie Palmer Shaw of Chesnee, SC slipped into eternal rest on Thursday, October 17,
2024, at her home. Lillie Pearl, as she was affectionately called by all those who knew
her, entered this earthly life on July 13, 1947 to the late Benny and Inez Palmer.
Lillie Pearl graduated from Foster Grove High School in 1965. She continued her
education, matriculating from Benedict College in Columbia, SC with her Bachelor’s
Degree.
Upon graduation from Benedict College, Lilie Pearl served in the Army Reserves. Lillie
Pearl had a career in the finance arenas for multiple companies, retiring from GMAC in
1999.
Lillie Pearl dedicated her life to Christ at an early age, being baptized at Holden Chapel
Missionary Baptist Church. Her Christian Stewardship spanned many decades across
two churches- Holden Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and Foster’s Grove Baptist
Church. She used her talents serving as Financial Secretary, Sunday School Teacher,
Missionary Society, Church Choir, and any other capacity that was needed until her
health declined. Even after becoming unable to physically attend services, she enjoyed
listening to the live streaming of service every Sunday morning.
Lillie Pearl was predeceased by her parents: Benny and Inez Palmer; siblings: Dorothy
Ann, Benny L.J., Darnell, Herbert Larry, and James Palmer.
Lillie Pearl is survived by
her children: Puriti Jefferies, Wesley (Debbie) Shaw, and Wilmot Shaw II. Her siblings:
Lucille Steen, Bobby (Terri) Palmer, and Pankie Edwards. Lillie Pearl also leaves to
cherish her memories, her special friend Donald Middleton, her amazing caregiver/goddaughter, Victoria Humphries; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces,
nephews, and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Fosters Grove Baptist Church, Chesnee, SC. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
