My sympathies for the family of Linda. I had her as a history teacher in 1986 or 1987 and I hold her in high esteem as a life-shaping educator because she was very challenging, but not overbearing... she really, truly cared about our learning! And that is what I will always remember about Linda Edwards!

I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for the unwavering support Ms. Edwards provided me during my tenure as the student body president at Spartan High 1995. Her dedication, alongside Mr. Smiley, had a profound impact on my family's educational journey.

Ms. Edwards, my family, and I had lunch together after Mr. Smiley's funeral. This occasion will always hold a special place in my heart. It was a touching experience, and I was truly taken aback by the remarkable clarity of Ms. Edwards' memory. As we shared a meal, she recounted with vivid detail all the significant milestones and events that shaped my high school years. I was shocked and amazed! Of course, we laughed about it.😂

But her ability to remember and recollect those moments showcased, she genuinely care and was invested in my growth and success as a student...she was working behind scenes to make sure I was successful....Thank you Ms. Edwards for being an instrumental part of my life's journey. Ms. Edwards was my home room teacher at Spartanburg High School in the late 1970s and we immediately developed a great relationship based on mutual support/respect. My sincere condolences to the Edwards and Henderson families. Linda was one of a number of people who was instrumental in helping me get my first job teaching in District 7 . I will miss her dearly for she and others were mentors for many. I was one of her students as well ( class of 75), Friend, and Sorority Sister.

I had the pleasure of meeting someone very special during my time at Spartanburg High School. Her name was Ms. Edwards and she had a genuine interest in my future, always encouraging me to pursue higher education. I have fond memories of her and Mr. Tidwell checking in on me to ensure that I was on track to graduate. I am forever grateful for their wisdom, encouragement, and support. Ms. Edwards had a kind and gentle spirit that will always hold a special place in my heart. Although she will be missed, her impact on the lives of Viking students will never be forgotten. Ms Edwards taught Western history and then later became a Guidance Counselor at Spartanburg High School before retiring after a successful education career in District 7.
