Linda Jean Rice FergusonSPARTANBURG, SC-- On Saturday, December 22, 2012 the Sovereign God dispatched an angel from heaven to escort Mrs. Linda Jean Rice Ferguson, wife of Rickey L. Ferguson to her heavenly home. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Lillie Ruth Rice. She was a native of Union, SC. She attended the public school in Union County.She was a faithful member of the Foster Chapel Baptist Church. Later, she became a member of the Pastor's Aid Ministry. She was willing to lend a helping hand wherever needed. She loved God, her family, her pastor, the members and people in general.Linda was married to Mr. Rickey L. Ferguson for thirty-four years.She leaves to cherish fond and loving memories in addition to her husband, one daughter, Ms. Sandra Rice Phillips of Charlotte, NC. One step son, Derrick Johnson of Gaffney, SC. Five brothers, Robert Lee (Modestine) Rice of Union, SC, Dennis (Darlene) Rice of Newport News, VA, Lewis (Connie) Rice of Union, SC, Dan Rice of Woodruff, SC and Willie James Rice of Spartanburg, SC. Four sisters, Lillie Ruth (Raymond) Hines of Dayton, OH, Mamie (Johnnie) Harris of Union, SC, Brenda (Rick) Smith of Spartanburg, SC and Sarah (Sam) Carr of Newport News, VA. Two aunts, Ms. Patricia Jeter and Ms. Nathalee Moorman, both of Union, SC. Mother in law, Ms. Annie M. Copeland of Spartanburg, SC One brother in law, Nathaniel Miller of Beaufort, SC. Five grandchildren, Aundrey Wells, Raven Boyd, India Boyd, Marcus Williams Jr. and Rashard Rice, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 29, 2012, at the Foster Chapel Baptist Church, Roebuck, SC. The Reverend Patrick Suber will officiate. Mrs. Ferguson will lie in state in the sanctuary one hour prior to service. Burial will be in the Foster Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.The family will receive friends at the home of her husband, Mr. Rickey L.
