Obituary For Louise Jones

Spartanburg, SC- Louise Thomas Jones, the sixth of ten children, was born to the late Anderson “Buddy” and Clara Norman Thomas on January 21, 1915. Louise was the Past Matron of Jeptha Chapter #21 Order of Eastern Star. She joined Thompson Street Baptist Church soon after moving to Spartanburg. She joyfully moved with her church family to Cornerstone Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years and served on the Mother’s Board. Louise was married to the late Larry Jones for forty-seven years. To this union five children were born, four of whom are deceased: Hearold, Richard, Ronny and Terry Jones. Mrs. Jones leaves to celebrate her life: her daughter, Sylvia Brewton (Sammy) of Chesnee, SC; her special sister, Willie Parham Bailey of Spartanburg, SC; her loving daughter-in-law, Nancy Jones of FL.; her six grandchildren; her nine great-grandchildren; her four great-great grandchildren; her devoted caregiver, Doretha Jeter of Spartanburg, SC; Tommy and John Glenn, whom she cared for as children; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. A Celebration of the Blessed Life of Louise T. Jones will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 700 S. Church St., Spartanburg, SC. Bishop Charles J.J. Jackson, III will officiate. Interment will be in the Lincoln Memorial Gardens, 2310 Cannons Campground Rd., Drayton, SC.
