Obituary For Lucille P. Steen
Lucille Palmer Steen of Chesnee, SC was born to the late Benny Palmer and Inez Gentry on August 5,1956 in Spartanburg, SC.
She graduated from Fosters Grove High School, Class of 1974. Lucille later attended Spartanburg Community College where she obtained her Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education. Thereafter, she solidified a life-long career with Spartanburg County Probation and Parole Pardon Services until her retirement.
Lucille was a member of Holden Chapel Missionary Baptist Church for many years where she served on the sympathy club as well as a faithful choir member.
Lucille was preceded in death by: her parents, Benny and Inez Palmer; siblings, James, Darnell, Dorothy Ann, Benny LJ and Larry Palmer, and Lillie Pearl Shaw.
She is survived by: her son, Leonard (Jaylin) Steen, Jr.; siblings, Pankie Edwards, Bobby (Terri) and Tig Palmer; special friend, Robert Wallace; granddaughter, Giavanha Steen; goddaughter, Brandy Johnson and children Layla and Lyric Fullenwinder; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Holden Chapel MIssionary Baptist Church.

Lenny and family, I worked with your mom for many years at Probation, Parole and Pardon Services. We, fondly, referred to her as "Sweet Lucy." You were the light of her eyes. She was so proud of you. Your mom possessed so much grace, style, beauty and integrity. I loved your mom. I am so very sorry for your loss. May God provide comfort during this difficult time.
