Mrs. Lurena R. Lester 86, or Constitution Avenue Lake City, South Carolina entered into eternal rest on Sunday, September 18, 2022.

A native of Greelyville, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Willie Allison Roberson and the late Mary Wilson. Lurena was preceded in death by husband Mr. Cab Lester, son Mr. Harold Michael Lester, brothers Elijah Roberson, Frank Roberson, Blease Roberson, Robert Lee Roberson, Shuler Roberson, sisters Stella Parke, Agnes-Jenkins, in laws Joe and Maggie Lester, Joe Jr., Samuel, Solomon, Rudolph, James, Elliott Lester, Louise McClain, Jesse McFadden, Josephine Lester-Scott, Stella Lester, Anna Johnson, Jonnie Pearl Cooke, and grandchild Officer Edward Douglas.

Left to cherish fond and loving memories are Delores L. Jackson, John Lee Lester, Frankie Lester, Calvin C. Lester, Gloria Lester Gibson all of New Haven, CT, Pastor Jeannette Johnson-Haynes and son in law Bishop Lee Haynes of Spartanburg, SC; living sisters Lucille Shaw of Florida, and Ida Mae Keels of King Street, SC. Lurena is survived by sister in laws Tiller Lester & Agness Roberson of SC, special nephew and nieces Julius and Barbara McFadden of New Haven, CT and Patricia and Rosetta of King Street, SC; grandchildren Kyshone and Nayamka Jackson, Tynell Bryant, Nykia and SeQuan Lester all of New Haven, CT, Jireh Lester of FL, Lakisha and Calvin Lester III, Leno and Denard Lester, Tristan Lester Gibson of New Haven, CT, Michael Reed of Georgia, Angel McClary of Lake City, SC, Sharmaine Walker of Atlanta, GA, Tremaine Johnson and Aaliyah Haynes of Spartanburg, SC; god daughters Brenda McFadden of SC and Tiffany Cooke of New Haven, CT, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and other loving relatives and friends. Services will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Fresh Start Covenant Center, 210 Sunbeam Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
