Mrs Margaret Grant Curenton, a native of Cross Hill, SC was born on April 20,1941 to the late John and Ammie Grant. She entered into eternal rest on Monday. June 8, 2026.
Mrs Curenton was a 1963 graduate of Carver High School. She retired from Spartanburg Steel after 30 years of service.
She was a devoted member of Ebenezer Baptist Church where she was a member of the Senior Usher Board and the Willing Worker Kitchen Ministry. She was a member of Electra Chapter #32 Order of Eastern Star.
Mrs Curenton is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Curenton Sr., her mother and father Ammie and John Grant, all of her siblings- Bertha R. Lindsay, Mary E. Rainey, Johnella Crosby, and James Grant.
Those left to cherish precious and loving memories are her children Ernest Curenton Jr, Petula Theresa Fernanders, and Michael Curenton, two daughter in laws- Cynthia Curenton and Natosha Curenton, a son in law- Edward Fernanders, seven grandchildren- Tiffinni (Tyler) Landrum, Ernest Moses, Kendrick (Tieraney) Fernanders, Brooke (Kyle) Chitwood, Mikala Curenton, Jer’Miaha Curenton, and Jer’Michael Curenton, six great-grands- Jada Landrum,Tatiyana Rodriguez, Jordan Fernanders, Tyson Landrum, Zoe Fernanders and Ian Fernanders.
She also is survived by four sister in laws: Patricia Cunningham, Sarah Curenton, and Johnnie Mae Griffin of Cross Hill, SC, and Geraldine Grant of Spartanburg and three brother in laws: Ed Curenton, Sammy Leake and Robert Cunningham of Cross Hill, SC along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Family is at the home of her daughter: 380 Woodsberry Shoals Drive, Duncan, South Carolina.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 220 Austin Street, Spartanburg, South Carolina. Burial will be in the Heritage Memorial Gardens, Roebuck, South Carolina.
Public Viewing will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m at the chapel.
