Sunrise... Marion Byrd, 84, of 1012 Lakewood Dr., Union, SC was born on September 23, 1936 in Fairfield County, SC. He was the son of the late Mary Boler Byrd Jeter and Bossie Byrd Sr. Mr. Byrd was the widower of Margaret Jeter. A Life Well Spent... He was a member of Thomas Chapel AME Church. He retired from Cone Mill (Carlisle Finishing Company) after many years of faithful service. After retirement, he enjoyed growing vegetables and driving friends and family around who did not have transportation. Sunset... Marion entered eternal rest on August 10, 2021 at Spartanburg Medical Center. He is preceded in death by: one sister, Maynolia Byrd Jeter; and three brothers, Bossie Byrd, Jr., Willie A. Byrd, and James E. Byrd. Those Who Remain... Left to mourn his passing, celebrate his life, and cherish his loving memories are: two daughters, Nashele Lowe of Spartanburg, SC and Jacqueline J. Cerda of Florida; one son, George (Penny) Jeter of Union, SC; three special nieces, Eunice (Norris) Thompson of Georgia, Johnnie Mae Byrd of Carlisle, SC and Kimberly (Brian) Cone of Maryland; four special nephews, Leon (Ethel) Byrd of Carlisle, SC Xaiver (Sherrie) Byrd of Gaffney, SC, Fred Albert Byrd of Worthington, VA and Kenneth Byrd of Washington DC, five grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
