Spartanburg, SC - Mary Elizabeth Davis “Brown Sugar” was born January 1, 1938 in Spartanburg County to the late Ralph Deshields and Carol Lou Brown. On Wednesday, February 1, 2017, Mary answered God’s call to come home. She was the widow of Robert E. Davis, Sr. Mary was once a member of Epiphany Episcopal Church and a current Silver Hill Memorial United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Carver High School, Class of 1957. Mary was a dedicated employee at Reeves Brothers for many years until her retirement. Mrs. Davis cherished her special time with her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: her son, Robert (Kimberly) Davis, Jr. of Spartanburg, SC; her sister, Doris Posey of Atlanta, GA; her grandchildren, Quiana Lekeisha Davis, Robert (Marsha) Davis, III, and Storm Davis all of Spartanburg, SC; her five great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends. A Celebration of the Life of Mary Elizabeth Davis will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Silver Hill Memorial United Methodist Church, 778 John B. White, Sr. Blvd., Spartanburg, SC. Interment will be in the Lincoln Memorial Gardens, 2310 Cannons Campground Rd., Drayton, SC. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 3, 2017 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. in The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard St., Spartanburg, SC.
