Obituary For Mary Roberson

Mary Ruth Roberson Mrs. Mary Ruth Roberson, 75, passed on Friday, April 17, 2015 surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of the late Willie and Sylvia Evans. Mrs. Roberson was a member of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for thirty-six years. She graduated from South Carolina State University and Winthrop University. Mary was a retired teacher of thirty-six years from Spartanburg County School District 7. She was also a teacher at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg County Schools for five years. Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: her daughters, Villette Roberson of Charlotte, NC and Venetra Roberson of Inglewood, NJ; her brother, Sylvester Evans; her sister, Sylvia P. Nichols; her three nieces, Nichelle Nichols-Howard of Spartanburg, SC, Collette Nichols of Charlotte, NC and Tameka Evans Watson of Spartanburg, SC; her nephew, Rodney (Joy) Nichols of Charlotte, NC; her great nieces, Ashley Jeter of New York, NY and Nayiah Evans of Spartanburg, SC; and a host of other dear relatives and friends. A Celebration of the life of Mary Ruth Roberson will be held on Friday, April 24, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. Reverend Benjamin D. Snoody will officiate. Interment will be in the Heritage Memorial Gardens, 3901 S. Church Street, Spartanburg, SC.
