Mike was more than a wonderful colleague—he was a true friend and someone who made a lasting impact on our community and on my family.

I always looked forward to volunteering each year for the Black History Bowl that Mike so passionately coordinated and hosted. His commitment to our community, especially our young people, was something I deeply admired.

On a personal level, Mike was also very instrumental in helping me make sure we had the right financial pieces in place for our son. That was simply who Mike was—always willing to help, guide, encourage, and make a difference in the lives of others.

Mike had such a pure and caring heart, and I am grateful that our paths crossed in this lifetime. I pray that I will have the opportunity to see you again in the next.

Mike, you will truly be missed. Your impact, kindness, and legacy will live on through the many lives you touched.

May God comfort, protect, and bless your wife and your two beautiful daughters during this incredibly difficult time. My prayers are with your entire family. Rest well, my friend. ❤️🙏🏽

Mike was one of the first people I worked with here at Upstate. Over the years, I had the privilege of getting to know him better, and he was always kind, happy, and willing to help. No matter when you reached out or what question you had, Mike always seemed to have an answer and was eager to lend a hand.

It is rare to meet someone who remains so consistently positive and who freely shares their light with others. Mike was one of those people. He made a lasting impression on so many of us, and he will be deeply missed.

This is a sad time for all of us at Upstate, and I know the loss is immeasurable for his wife, children, family, and friends. Mike was a good man, and I am incredibly sorry for your loss. Please know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Michael and I worked in the same office suite, so I saw him almost every day. His chuckle will be missed. We shared our enthusiasm for veggies, so I was always telling him what I was having for lunch and asking him what was in his lunch bag. (Really, I was checking to make sure there were no cookies or other sweets in there!) He was firm in his commitment to our students, and there was no doubt he was proud of his family. My prayers are for the family to find comfort in their memories. Rest well, Michael. Lisa Caggiano

Please accept my deepest condolences on your loss. Michael was truly one of those special people you could always count on. I had the privilege of working with him, and no matter what I needed, he was always willing to help with kindness, patience, and a smile. I am especially grateful for the many times he put up with me and my antics over the years. His good nature and sense of humor never went unnoticed, and he made the workplace a better place simply by being there. Michael will be deeply missed by so many. My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult time.

I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to work with him at SCC and get to know him. He was the first candidate I interviewed for the position, and within minutes, I knew I wanted to hire him. His kindness, gentle spirit, and natural rapport with students made him special. We shared November birthdays and the unique connection of having a twin brother. I will always be thankful our paths crossed, and he will be remembered with great fondness. My heartfelt condolences to his family and all who loved him.

Michael was a joy to work with and always displayed such a love for his family. I enjoyed our talks about football, and being pulled out to take a picture of him and another student that obviously loved him and had reached a goal. Michael will be greatly missed by so many. My thoughts and prayers are with all of the family. Jody Babb
