SPARTANBURG, SC – Mr. George Buford Smith, 65, of 318 Hillandale Road entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 28, 2014. He was a native of Spartanburg County. Mr. Smith was the husband of Mrs. Carrie Parks Smith; he was the son of the late Ms. Carrie Smith and the late Mr. Harry Russell. Survivors include: daughters, Marcia (Perry) Nesbitt and Inga Smith; brothers, Roy Smith, Richard Smith, J.W. Williams, Melvin Russell and Harry James Russell; grandchildren, Kiondra Smith, Agneshia Smith, Terrance Davis, Perrah’Shae Nesbitt and Jamiya Woodruff; and a host of close relatives and friends. Mr. George B. Smith was preceded in death by his sisters, Mrs. Barbara Ann Russell, Mrs. Anita Russell, Mrs. Lillian Williams and Mrs. Carrie Mae Lockett; his brother, Mr. Gerald Russell. A Celebration of the Life of Mr. George Buford Smith will be held on Monday, May 5th, 2014 at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel at 1:00 p.m.; Reverend Dr. M. Keith McDaniel will officiate.
