Spartanburg, SC – Mr. Herman Lee Marshall Means, Sr., entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 21, 2014. Herman was born February 25, 1950 to the late Mr. Charlie Means, Jr. and Mrs. Helen White Means. He was a native of Spartanburg County, South Carolina. He was the widower of Mrs. Marcia Ann Scurry Means. Mr. Means was a graduate of Carver High School, Class of 1970. Herman was a Veteran of the United States Army. He leaves to cherish his memories: his daughter, Marce Means of Spartanburg, SC; his son, Sgt. First Class Herman Means, Jr., of El Paso, TX; his brothers, Mr. Charles (Christobelle) Means, of Spartanburg, SC, Mr. Joseph (Annie) Means, of Atlanta, GA, Mr. David Means and Gregory Means, both of Spartanburg, SC; his sisters, Mrs. Joann Rice, of Birmingham, AL, Ms. Mary Means, Ms. Phyllis Means and Mrs. Catherine (Henry) Sims, all of Spartanburg, SC; his special friend, Ms. Betty McClintock of Spartanburg, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends. A Celebration of the Life of Mr. Herman Lee Marshall Means, Sr., will be held on Friday, July 25, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303. The Reverend Bessie L. Black will officiate. Interment will be held in Heritage Memorial Gardens, 3901 South Church Street, Roebuck, SC 29376.
