6-23-2014 Dear Mrs. Pam Copeland, I was disappointed that I was not able to attend the services for your sweet Sam. I wanted to celebrate his life, with you, in person. Since I could not, I wanted to share a few memories with you now. As a child, I spent a lot of time with my grandparents, Milt and Jo?ÇÖ Maness. I remember thinking they were much cooler than most grandparents?Ǫattractive, popular, successful, social people. Celebrities of Spartanburg, if you will. Also, among the famous, were three consistent Christian couples?Ǫ The Partons, Calicutts and Copelands. I stood in awe of you all. Y'all represented for me, the future I wanted for myself. Enclosed is an old and current prayer list. Please give my best regards to all. In Christ, Sam Copeland.?ÇØ The letter was short and sweet. My Gran?Çÿmama was right about him. He had even taken the time to highlight the name ?Ç£John Blackwell?ÇØ. The neon pink marker boldly reminded me that my Church family had not forgotten about the matter of my granddaddy?ÇÖs unsaved soul. They were praying and God was listening. My granddaddy gave his heart to Jesus and I have always believed that Sam?ÇÖs voice wa
