SPARTANBURG, SC - Mr. Claude “Dickey” Edward Watt, Sr., of 206 Fisher Avenue, entered rest on Saturday, March 15, 2014. Mr. Watt was the son of the late Reverend Benson I. Watt, Sr. and Mrs. Willie Mae Watt. Claude was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. Mr. Watt, Sr., was the CEO and Founder of Watt Masonry. Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: his three sons, Rev. Claude Edward (Avery) Watt, Jr. of New Haven, CT, Steve Watt and Harold (Jiselle) Watt of Spartanburg, SC; his four daughters, Rev. Dr. Brenda Gail Watt, Sharon Watt-Martin, G. Denise Robinson and Angela (Freddie) Miller of Spartanburg, SC; his five sisters, Irene Walker, Aileen Watt and Sara (Dennis) Driscoll of Seneca, SC, Hilda (Samuel) Shepeard of Snellville, GA and Ruthie Watt of Greenville, SC; his sister-in-law, Eunice Watt of Spartanburg, SC; his three brothers, Herman Watt of Newport, NC, Rev. Wade (Norma) Watt, Sr. of Seneca, SC and Kenneth (Barbara) Watt of Spartanburg, SC; his sixteen grandchildren; his five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Claude Edward Watt, Sr. was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Jones and Della Watt; his brothers, Rev. Benson I. Watt, Jr. and Clarence Watt. A Celebration of the Life of Mr. Claude “Dickey” Edward Watt, Sr. will be held on Friday, March 21, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, 445 South Church St., Spartanburg, SC. The Reverend Dr. B.D. Snoddy will officiate. Interment will be in Heritage Memorial Gardens, 3901 S. Church St., Roebuck, SC. The family will receive friends at the home, 206 Fisher Avenue, Spartanburg, SC.
