Myrtle Lou Vealma Nesbitt “Myrt” Johnson, 78, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at her home in Upper Darby, PA. She was the daughter of the late Mary Whittaker Nesbitt and Louie Nesbitt. She was the granddaughter of the late Lula Ferguson Fant and Frank A. Fant. She was married to the late L. W. “Dub” Johnson.
“Myrt” was a graduate of Lincoln High School, Class of 1959 in Spartanburg, SC. She retired from St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, PA.
Although her home church was Foster Chapel Baptist Church in Roebuck, SC, because of her location she was a faithful member of Careview Community Church in Lansdowne, PA.
Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: her daughters, Saberia Jones of Spartanburg, SC, Marcia (Stephon) Marsh of Upper Darby PA; her grandchildren, Chavis “Chad” Nesbitt, Johannah Bennett, Joshua Marsh, of Upper Darby, PA., Phillip Nesbitt of Spartanburg, SC; her great-granddaughter, Alaia Rose Nesbitt of Upper Darby, PA; her brother, Melvin (Sandra)Nesbitt of Spartanburg, SC; her sisters, Marva (Carlton) Farr, Maxine (Charles) Kelly, Marilyn (Eddie) Parks, Millicent “12” Bruton, Monica Floyd of Spartanburg, SC; her eight nieces; her six nephews; and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
“Myrt” was preceded in death by: a brother, Marion Franklin Nesbitt; and a sister, Marquetti “Keena” Nesbitt.
The family is observing the Covid restriction guidelines.
