Penny Elizabeth Jeter ,66, of Spartanburg, SC, departed from this life into eternity on June 20, 2023, at Mary Black hospital in Spartanburg, SC. Penny was born on July 17, 1956, in Spartanburg, SC. She obeyed the gospel of Jesus Christ on June 29, 2010, and was a member of the Cedar Springs Church of Christ.
Early in life, she was stricken with numerous health issues, but she never allowed that to hinder her from being a friend to so many. Growing up, Penny was a serious person and always got along with others. She was known as a defender of those who was getting bullied in school. She was a conversationist and made an impact on the lives of many. She enjoyed spending time with her daughter, granddaughter, nieces, nephews and friends, who she loved dearly. Penny was an outgoing person, that stayed positive throughout her sickness, and never lost faith in God.
She was preceded in death by her late parents Fletcher Cook, of Philadelphia, PA, and Carolyn Tracy, of Spartanburg, SC.
Left to cherish fond memories: her daughter Tosha Jeter, of Spartanburg, SC, granddaughter, Jenasis Jeter, of Spartanburg, SC, uncle, Donald (Christine)Tracy, of Spartanburg, SC, sister, Carolyn (Bobby) Herndon, of Spartanburg, SC, brother, Ronnie (Martha) Jeter, of Spartanburg, SC, raised in the home like a daughter, Ronda Jeter, of Charlotte, NC and a host of nephews, nieces and cousins;, her Cedar Springs Church of Christ family; Pennyβs very close friends: Brenda Harris, of Spartanburg SC, Sandra Burgess, of Spartanburg, SC, and Yvanda Hardy, of Spartanburg, SC.
She was deeply loved and will live on through the hearts (minds) of her family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, June 25, 2023 at 2:30 p.m. at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard St., Spartanburg, SC. Burial will follow in the Heritage Memorial Gardens, 3901 S. Church St., Roebuck, SC.

I am shocked to hear of your passing. You definitely was what your obituary said. Dennis started we all grew up in the Wofford College area as we did.We went to Cummings Street School, played together ect. Penny was a sweet and kind person.
