Spartanburg, SC – Phillip F. Smith, 51, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 1, 2015. Mr. Smith was the son of Mrs. Betty M. Smith and the late Mr. Bennie F. Smith, Sr. He was a native of Spartanburg, SC. Mr. Smith attended New Prospect A.M.E. Zion Church. Phillip was a graduate of Columbia High School in Atlanta, GA; Class of 1982. Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: his loving mother; his cherished aunts, Peggy Smith and Valerie Miller; and a host of other relatives and dear friends. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by: his father, Bennie F. Smith, Sr. and his brother, Bennie F. Smith, Jr. A Celebration of the Life of Phillip F. Smith will be held on Sunday, July 5, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at New Prospect A.M.E. Zion Church, 2235 Cannons Campground Rd., Spartanburg, SC. Reverend Nannie Jefferies will officiate. Interment will be held in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of his mother, Betty M. Smith, 425 East Shore Dr., Spartanburg, SC.
