Preston “Lewis” Nesbitt, a man whose radiant personality brought joy to all who were fortunate enough to cross his path, passed peacefully on the 6th of October 2024 at the age of 55. Lewis was born February 9, 1969, to the late Preston Nesbitt and the late Wilda Nesbitt, Inman, SC He was preceded by his beloved grandmother Sarah, a brother Randal Nesbitt, and his mother and father-in-law Wilma and James Burgess. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 wonderful years, Kimberly Burgess Nesbitt of Spartanburg; their two children, Malcolm (Sarah) Nesbitt of Ozark, MO, and Lauryn Nesbitt of Spartanburg. His sister Erica Padgett of Boiling Springs and sister-in-law Karen Burgess of Spartanburg. Nephew Malik Burgess of Spartanburg, niece Simone Landrum & Idreona Padgett of Boiling Springs. Three great nieces Ava, Avery, and Alaia. A special unofficially adopted son Isaiah Foster and his family of Simpsonville. Lastly, his four-legged couch buddy KoKo. Lewis grew up in Bible Way Church and later joined Whitehall Church under Pastor Johnny Jackson and Nancy Petty. Lewis graduated from Chapman High School in 1987. During his school years, he was on the basketball team and was a star player. This is also where he met his high school sweetheart Kim. Lewis and Kim got married on August 2nd, 1991, and spent 33 beautiful years together. Lewis was a proud father and was known as the band dad at Boiling Springs High School during the years Malcolm and Lauryn were in school and even after. Always known for being goofy but was always there for all the students. Lewis was a hard worker and always made sure to provide for and spoil his family. He worked for Spartanburg Water for 22 years and truly loved what he did. Lewis wasn’t just a remarkable man; he was an amazing husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. To Lewis, there were no strangers, just friends he hadn’t met yet. His memory will live on in the hearts of the numerous friends and family who he greatly loved. His life may seem short to many, yet to those who were touched by his spirit, it was nothing short of abundant.

My heart is broken that such an amazing man has passed away so suddenly! Lewis was a man of his words, always willing to help anyone out he could and always agreeing to get Ice Cream with me on the long hot summer days working at Lake Bowen! Lewis loved his wife and his children both more than life itself! He always gave the best advice, it didn't matter if I wanted to hear it or not! I will miss him more than anything! I love you Lewis, rest easy old friend! Kim & Lauryn I love both of you too and praying so hard for both of you (Malcom as well)! Please call me so we can get together for Lewis's boujee Starbucks and Ice Cream :)
With Love, Lauryn Huffman
