Dr. Rondey S. Peake, 49, peacefully entered into eternal rest on March 27, 2020. Dr. Peake was the son of Sevoy Jeter and the late Annie Ruth Peake.
He had been an employee of the Spartanburg Medical Center for twenty-five years where he last served in the Occupational/Corporate Health Center as a Nurse Practitioner with his DNP for eighteen years.
Dr. Peake was a 1988 graduate of Union High School where he proudly participated in the JROTC program. Following his high school graduation, Dr. Peake served his country as a Hospital Corpsman in the United States Navy. He also served in this capacity in a United Stated Marine Corps Unit. Rondey had the pleasure of serving his county from 1988-1992. After his military service, he obtained an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Greenville Technical College followed by his Bachelor Degree in Nursing from the University of South Carolina Spartanburg. He later continued his education earning his Master’s in Nursing from Clemson University, afterward beginning his career as a Nurse Practitioner. Dr. Peake then moved forward with obtaining his Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the Medical University of South Carolina.
Dr. Peake loved to travel, dance, and simply enjoy life. He also had a heart to give back to and serve United States Veterans. He was a lifelong member of the Wyatt Chapel Baptist Church in Buffalo, SC.
Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: his father, Sevoy (Brennie) Jeter of Boiling Springs, SC; his brothers, Roderick Long of Union, SC and Sevoy Christopher Jeter (Shamanique) of Donalds, SC; his sisters, Demeterice Clark (Rev. Timothy) of Duncan, SC, Latasha Goodwin of Greenwood, SC and Margaret Smith of Union, SC; his two godsons, Brandon and Deven Zimmerman of Spartanburg, SC; his three special friends, Rev. Dr. Kelly Zimmerman of Spartanburg, SC, Yvette Hopp of Union, SC and Stan Brown of Simpsonville, SC; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, co-workers and friends.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by: his brother-in-law, Keele.
A Graveside Celebration of the Life of Dr. Rondey S. Peake will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Wyatt Chapel Baptist Church in Buffalo, SC. Minister Denise Peake, Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in the Wyatt Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard St., Spartanburg, SC.
