Miss Rosmaree P. Foster was born on March 22, 1940, in Gaffney, South Carolina, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Rufus H. Foster, Sr. At an early age, Rosmaree accepted Christ as her Savior and she faithfully served Him until being called into the presence of the Lord. On the morning of Friday, November 25, 2022, God selected a beautiful rose from His garden. Rosmaree, affectionally known as Aunt Rosie, was reunited with her parents. It felt as though the world stood still briefly, and many relatives, friends, and acquaintances were in a state of shock, but God’s plans for Aunt Rosie were only beginning in a new realm. As the youngest of two older sisters, she did the talking when visiting homes. So God started training her early for her journey, and her parents and four other siblings were there to encourage her. Rosmaree skipped a grade in school and was valedictorian of the Class of 1957 at Granard High School. She was a South Carolina State College graduate, where she joined a dance troupe and became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She loved children. Rosmaree taught school in both Spartanburg and Gaffney, South Carolina and she obtained a Master of Arts degree from Atlanta University. She was also an artist and played the piano with The Rhythm Masters Jazz Band. Although Rosmaree did not have any biological sons or daughters, God blessed her with many children as she treated her nieces and nephews like they were her own. Baby-sitting, entertaining, and helping with homework, she became known as Aunt Rose. As an aunt, she always sought an opportunity to develop personal relationships with her nieces and nephews. She congratulated them and shared in the happiness of all their accomplishments. Rosmaree was one of God’s servants. Her faith in the Lord allowed her to work feverishly and serving on committees at Dunton Chapel United Methodist Church became very fulfilling for Aunt Rose. She served as the church historian, lay member to the Annual Conference, communications coordinator, and financial secretary. She worked diligently to organize many church announcements. In addition to being a teacher, Rosmaree worked with her mother at Foster Funeral Home and she was later devoted toward helping her older brother maintain the legacy of the family funeral home. She was loving and became the caregiver for her parents and younger brother. Rosmaree enjoyed traveling, reading the Bible, and talking about God. She was dedicated. We will miss her gospel Sunday morning radio program on WFGN. Many listeners were inspired when the Angelic Gospel Singers sang “Touch Me Lord Jesus.” That was one of God’s plans for her that started when she attended church and played games in the backyard, along with her siblings. Rosmaree absolutely loved family and was always welcoming. She, and her siblings, remained committed to carrying on the family tradition of hosting an annual gathering on the day after Christmas. She will truly always be dear to our hearts.
She was preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Rufus H. Foster, Sr. and brothers, Dr. Rufus (Mildred) Foster, Jr. and Mr. Ellington Foster; sister, Mrs. Felicia (James) Davis; brothers-in-law, Reverend Donald J. Daniels, Sr. and Mr. Elijah Inabinette; and nephew, James Foster Davis.
Rosmaree leaves to cherish her memories, her brother, Dr. T. Littlejohn (Sandy) Foster of Charlotte, N.C.; and sisters, Mrs. Madelyn F. Daniels of Chattanooga, TN, and Mrs. Gloria Inabinette of Gaffney, S.C.; sister-in-law, Mrs. Thelma Foster of Gaffney, S.C.; and nieces, Ms. Felicia P. Davis, Mrs. Kitty Davis, Ms. Kathy Foster, Ms. Cindy Foster, Mrs. Kim Kim (Walter) Tobin, Mrs. Wendy Molina, Dr. Helena Tiller, Mrs. Gilda (Paul) Dockery; and nephews, Mr. Vincente (Netta) Foster, Mr. Donald Joe Daniels, Jr., Mr. Sean Daniels, Mr. John (Nicole) Daniels, Mr. Ray Inabinette, Mr. Tony Inabinette, Mr. Robert (Audrey) Littlejohn; great-nieces, Ms. Tyannia Foster, Ms. Briana Foster, Ms. Bianca Foster, Ms. Kianna Foster, Mrs. Jasiman (Howard) Mignott, Ms. Bishop Tobin, Ms. Nazzar Tillery, Ms. Gnomi Tillery, Ms. Gaia Tillery, Ms. Aubrey Daniels, Ms. Sydney Daniels, Ms. Jordyn Daniels, Ms. Chelsey Littlejohn, Ms. Joey Dockery; and great nephews, Mr. James Davis, Mr. Ayinde Best, Mr. Jack Tobin, Mr. Cardarryl Hampton, Mr. Carles Bell, Mr. Chase Daniels, Mr. Brandon White; and a host of great-great nieces, great-great nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
To God be the Glory, and as she always said when ending a conversation, “I love you dearly.” Good night sweet sister, we love you dearly. Touch Me Lord Jesus.

It is noted that all roses symbolize God's love at work in the world. White roses symbolize holiness, red symbolizes passion and sacrifice, yellow represents wisdom and joy, and pink roses symbolize gratitude and peace. To us, Aunt Rose represents God and all of these characteristics noted above. She is uniquely special. She lived a life dedicated and committed to the Lord, while encouraging His people. Aunt Rose has set the example for us to follow, to love God and love our neighbor, as she is a beautiful person with a loving heart.
She always welcomed us with hugs and kisses. She made sure we enjoyed every visit with shopping, movies, good food, sweet kool-aid, vists to see other relatives, discussions of the Bible, and so much more. She was always happy to see us come and sad to see us go. Aunt Rose was sure to let us know how proud she was of each of us. She truly loves her family!! Even with Covid precautions, she couldn't help but to meet us and love on us as she always did!!
The scriptures tell us that those that believe in the Lord, though they were dead, yet they LIVE. Just as our Savior Lives! Dear Family.... Although we will definitely miss our dear Aunt Rose and Gaffney will never be the same without her, our Heavenly Father's promises allow us to know that she will be there to give us one of her welcoming hugs and kisses on the other side. We love you very much Aunt Rose, until we meet Again. ❤️ Love, John, Nicole, and Family
I am shocked to learn of Rosmaree's demise. I met her and her lovely family many years ago when I worked in Spartanburg. She was a dear friend whom I will miss. We kept in contact by occasional phone calls. My sincere condolences to the Foster family. Gwendolyn F. Littlejohn
To The Foster Family: You all have my prayers for peace at this time of sorrow. I will truly miss talking to Rosmaree in Foodlion. It was always good to see her - we would hug and catch up on life since we'd last seen each other. I will truly miss her. Love you all Veronica Smith Camp
My dear cousin Rosemarre, I know we didn't see each other much because of you on the east coast and me on the west coast, but the few times I' ve been blessed to be with you were so wonderful. I will miss you greatly and your loving smile and heart full up of love (even enough love for me as well as Serena William's. We joked about this because Rose loved to watch Serena play tennis.) I am so thankful that my children got to finally meet you and the rest of the Littlejohns and that they got to the family reunion. We all love and cherish you and you will be in our hearts forever. Until we meet again in Gods house. Love, Debbie Littlejohn

To the Family of Rosmaree: My heart was sadden to learn of the passing of Rosmaree. It was such a shock! I met her around 31 years ago. When she retired from the school district, I was her replacement for her class. Some years later, I worked for her brother Rufus at the funeral home. She was the same everything we came in contact. She enjoyed talking. She was a very sweet and dear person and friend. I will miss her! Old teachers never die, they simply just lose their class!May God bless each and every family member with strength to endure! Sincerely, Ricky Fernandez
