SPARTANBURG, SC - Russell E. Rice, 80, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Tuesday December 22, 2015. Mr. Rice was the son of the late Jack Rice, Sr. and Alma Jackson Rice. He retired from Amtrak Spartanburg Station. Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: his two sons, Alton Rice and Crushaun Rice; his daughter, Precious Martin; his sister, Carolyn Rice Dawkins; his seven grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mr. Rice was preceded in death by his son, Otis Tate; his seven brothers; and his three sisters. A Celebration of the Life of Russell E. Rice will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard St., Spartanburg, SC. Interment will be in the Lincoln Memorial Gardens, 2310 Cannons Campground Rd., Spartanburg, SC. The family will receive friends at the home of his son, Crushaun Rice, 528 Rice St., Spartanburg, SC.
