Obituary For Sahiyd Bre'onn Thomas Joyner

Sahiyd Bre-Onn Thomas-Joyner "Mr. Fella" was born on December 29,2003 at 10:54 p.m. in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He was one of six children born to Harry Thomas, Jr. and Juanita Joyner-Thomas.

Sahiyd was the first boy born to his parents from the time he was born Sahiyd’s parents knew he would do great things. "Mr. Fella" (as his mother called him) enjoyed music from a young age. He always asked and went for what he wanted. Anything Sahiyd put his mind to it was accomplished.

After several years in Philadelphia, PA the family relocated to Spartanburg, SC in 2010.

During Sahiyd’s time with us he touched so many hearts and lives from the first time he stepped foot in school at Woodland Heights Elementary. Sahiyd was a wonderful student academically. He managed to sustain A’s and B’s throughout his ten years of schooling. "Mr. Fella" was an amazing man to teach and be around. During his time at Woodland Height’s Elementary, Sahiyd fell in love with music. Following in his mother’s footsteps, Sahiyd, joined the chorus and orchestra. He was so excited to play the violin and attend his first concert. He continued to perfect his singing and playing of the violin when transferred to Roebuck Elementary. After graduating from Roebuck Elementary to attend Gable Middle School, Sahiyd started showing interest in Basketball and Wrestling while still singing in the choir and playing the violin. Once Sahiyd entered Dorman Freshman Campus, basketball and singing became the hobbies he wanted to perfect.

He was a rising superstar in the tenth grade at Dorman High School. Sahiyd had a bright smile that would light up any room when he walked in. Sahiyd's laugh was contagious, unique and stayed with you well after he was away from you. He was such a joy to be around.

Sahiyd was a member of the International Baptist Church in Spartanburg, SC. While attending service under Pastor Mike Washer, Sahiyd joined the Upstate Bearcats JV Basketball team. He was a dedicated team player on and off the court. He ALWAYS thought of others before thinking of himself.

To know Mr. Fella is to love Mr. Fella. He left an everlasting imprint on everyone’s heart he encountered from the day he entered this world.

Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: his mother, Juanita Joyner-Thomas; his father Harry Thomas Jr.; his siblings, Sahiyyah Stigall, Samiar Thomas, Saleem Thomas, Sadiqq Thomas and Saleigh Thomas; his maternal grandparents, Willie Joyner, Jr. and Wanda Barnes; his paternal grandmother, Marcelle Butler; his paternal great-grandmother, Peggy Butler of Philadelphia, PA; his aunts and uncles, Eugene Joyner, Marvin Mosley, Dwain Barnes of Philadelphia, PA, Edward Thomas of Sioux Falls, SD, Charlene Williams, Anika Thomas, Diana Ross, Marceda & Benjamin Richardson, Tyanna Thomas of Philadelphia, PA, Catrice Perry of Columbia SC; his great-aunts and great-uncles, Alexander Barnes of Atlanta GA, Minister Edward and Tonya Butler of Harrisburg, PA, Fred and Dora Butler of Tappahannock, VA, Larry and Cynthia Bey, Nellie Alexander, Ida Swindle of Philadelphia, PA and Charmaine Butler of Portsmouth, VA; his first cousins, Khadijah and Kaseem Ki” Joyner, Demetrius, Adena, D’Shae, Dakota and Destiny Mosley, Aniyah, Anthoney and Keygan Thomas of South Dakota, Kameysha, Kamon, Azariya, Kamiyah Richardson of Philadelphia PA Zaniyyah and Zaveah Ross, Zamir and Zaire Parker and Zion Samuels; and his three very special and close friends, Fabian, Rachel and Madisyn; and a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
