Obituary For Thomas Foster

Thomas James “Sonny” Foster, of 1163 Webber Way, entered eternal rest on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. “Sonny” was born on December 21, 1938 to the late Jesse Evans and Lucille Foster Porter. He graduated from Lincoln High School, Class of 1956. Mr. Foster was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of VFW Post #9539. Thomas was a Master Mason in Foster Military Lodge, Number 67 of Mount Holly, NJ. He was a member of Monks Grove Baptist Church. “Sonny” was a Chief and Loss Prevention Officer for Seagrams Co., Manhattan, NY for over forty years. Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: his daughters, Loretta Washington of Silver Springs, MD and LaShawnda Johnson of NY, NY; his sister, Patricia Jackson of Spartanburg, SC; his cousins, Donnie and Ioie Foster of Spartanburg, SC; a devoted niece, Teresa J. Leak; his dear friend, Barbara Jean Whitener; his niece, Deborah Miller; his nephew, Stewart Jackson; and a host of family and friends. Mr. Foster was preceded in death by his sister, Ann Porter “Polly” Cobb and his niece, Karan A. Jackson. A Celebration of the Life of Thomas James “Sonny” Foster will be held on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard St., Spartanburg,SC. Reverend Pamela T. Wofford will officiate. Interment will be in the Lincoln Memorial Gardens, 2310 Cannons Campground Rd., Spartanburg, SC with Full Military Honors. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
